ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ

The night before ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ’s spring 2023 commencement, Brazos Park, a green space for activity located in the heart of campus, transformed into Arlington’s biggest hotspot as it hosted the University’s inaugural MavGrad Celebration.

ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ’s newest class of graduates and their family and friends were invited to celebrate the culmination of years of hard work.

Cindy Orellana, who graduated with a master’s in nursing administration, said that she always felt connected to campus, even as a mostly online student. She saw the celebration as one more chance to experience ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ in person.

“The University was always so engaged with and supportive of students,” she says. “It made me much more interested in campus.”

“We want this to be the place where graduates get to show off our campus to family members and take a moment to reflect on their experiences and accomplishments here at ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ,” says Seth Ressl, senior director of involvement and engagement.

The newest Maverick alumni and their loved ones were treated to free food, drinks, activities, and music. Closing out the evening was a drone show by Sky Elements Drone Shows, a company owned by ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ alumni. The show’s designers, artists, and animators are also all Maverick alumni.

“One of ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ’s greatest strengths is the diversity of our campus. We have students from all backgrounds and all walks of life,” said President Jennifer Cowley at the event. “No matter what path you took to ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ, I know that you have found yourselves.”
