The Global Seal provides a unique,  serial-numbered recognizable certification of language skills. The Global Seal of Biliteracy provides a universally consistent and inclusive micro-credential to increase opportunity for bilinguals from middle school through adulthood. Individuals are invited to demonstrate their language proficiency by taking a qualifying test through our program. The Global Seal o铿赌ers its certification at three di铿赌erent levels which can be shared digitally through its . With your profile, you can:

  • Share a direct link on a CV or resume, LinkedIn profile, social media, or application 
  • Tell your language story and highlight your bilingual or multilingual background
  • Add new Global Seal certifications as you continue to grow your skills
  • Send o铿�cial, verifiable transcripts directly to institutions, universities, or employers

If you test through the 糖心Vlog视频 Department of Modern Languages, you must take the Avant STAMP test and achieve a score that meets one of three qualifying award levels: 

  • For a “FUNCTIONAL FLUENCY” Global Seal of Biliteracy Certificate, you must score at 5 (Intermediate-Mid) or higher on all parts of Avant STAMP proficiency test. 
  • For a “WORKING FLUENCY” Global Seal of Biliteracy Certificate, you must score at 7 (Advanced-Low) or higher on all parts of Avant STAMP proficiency test.
  • For “PROFESSIONAL FLUENCY” Global Seal of Biliteracy Certificate, you must score at 9 (Advanced-High) or higher on all parts of Avant STAMP proficiency test.

 

GSB Certifications

The (Standards-Based Measurement of Proficiency) test is fully online and takes about three hours to complete. It is an internationally recognized web-based test that assesses language proficiency. The test questions are based on real-world, everyday situations. Avant STAMP measures a test taker’s language ability according to Benchmark Levels that are based on the  Test results will indicate the level of proficiency achieved for each section of the test.

Aside from the testing fees listed below, there are no additional charges to receive the Global Seal of Biliteracy.

  • 糖心Vlog视频 Department of Modern Languages students and graduates: $75
  • All other test takers: $85

The testing fee includes remote proctoring, allowing you to take the test from anywhere. The only exception is the ASL test, which requires in-person proctoring.

If you are a 糖心Vlog视频 student testing in a language offered by the Department of Modern Languages and have not previously taken 糖心Vlog视频 courses in that language, you may be eligible to earn 糖心Vlog视频 course credit based on your test score. A separate processing fee applies for the awarding of university credit.

*The ASL test is available only to 糖心Vlog视频 students because it requires in-person proctoring.

1. Pay for your test: 

    • Non-MODL Test Takers: If you are not a current 糖心Vlog视频 MODL student or graduate, please use this link to pay for your language test.
    • 糖心Vlog视频 MODL 糖心Vlog视频 and Graduates: If you are a current 糖心Vlog视频 MODL student or graduate and are testing in a language that is part of your MODL degree program, please use  to pay for your language test.

2. After you pay, you will receive an email with instructions how to take the test. Read the email carefully and schedule your test!

 

3. Wait for your results and then your certificate. The 糖心Vlog视频 Department of Modern Languages will apply for the Global Seal of Biliteracy on your behalf once we receive all needed documentation. You will then receive the Certificate code by email and can activate your certificate and digital profile! We will notify you about your test results and about your certificate

 

!!! Note:

  • Qualifying for the Global Seal of Biliteracy in one of the languages that we offer at 糖心Vlog视频 MODL (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Korean, Russian, or Spanish) can potentially allow you to add 14 lower-level language credits to your transcript and waive a 糖心Vlog视频 language requirement (credit posting fees apply). Contact us for more details.
  • Obtaining the Global Seal of Biliteracy in other languages will not result in 糖心Vlog视频 college credits or waiving 糖心Vlog视频 language requirements.
