Greetings,
ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ occupies a unique space in higher education, packaging academic and research excellence with an unwavering commitment to access for students from all backgrounds.
We have the research and academic credentials that place us among the nation’s top research universities. In every corner of campus, you will find ambition, ingenuity, and promise. We are leading significant initiatives in artificial intelligence, ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ’ aerospace defense manufacturing, the development of next-generation power systems, and anti-venom therapeutics for snakebites, to name just a few.
At the same time, we can boast of having one of the nation’s most diverse undergraduate student populations. The grit and determination of our students, many of them among the first in their families to attend college, is truly something to behold. I think of Thelma Alanis, who earned her master’s degree in history in August and was able to balance her academic studies with her aspirations to be a lawyer, her role as a mother to her 7-year-old daughter, and her demanding full-time shifts at American Airlines.
I also think of Michael E. Langley, a trailblazer and genuine American hero who this month became the first Black four-star general in the 250-year history of the U.S. Marine Corps. Before he was a Marine, he was a Maverick (class of ’85), making all of us proud to be associated with ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ.
I tell people that ÌÇÐÄVlogÊÓƵ is a national treasure, and I mean it. Thank you for all you do to support our great University.
Sincerely,
|
